Habib Mohammed, a former Black Stars defender, has backed Otto Addo to be Ghana’s next coach, believing the former Dortmund winger will succeed if no one interferes with his job.
Milovan Rajevac’s successor is being sought by the Ghana Football Association.
And the Dortmund assistant coach appears to be the frontrunner. In Germany, Otto Addo met with GFA officials, including President Kurt Okraku, to discuss the job.
“I played with Otto Addo in the 2006 World Cup, and he can work if the GFA allows him,” Habib told Onua Sports.
During his time with the senior national team, Habib, who played for King Faisal and AshantiGold, said he witnessed interference firsthand.
“Ratomir Djukovic left his post as the head coach of the Black Stars after the Germany 2006 world cup because of interference from some members of the GFA,” he revealed.
Black Stars return to action in late March for the crucial World Cup play-offs tie against Nigeria.
