Mr. Wilfred Kwaku Osei President of Tema Youth FC, popularly known as “Palmer” has stated that his lawyers have not received any ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) as speculated in the media.

A statement from Palmer said “Contrary to reports suggesting our lawyers have received the much-anticipated ruling from CAS, we wish to establish the fact that our lawyers were yet to receive the ruling the from CAS.

“CAS has not given any reason for the delay, but we are hopeful that in due course the ruling would be sent to all parties concerned.”

The CAS last month fixed August 4, 2020, for the judgment of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Palmer where the latter was disqualified from the 2019 GFA Presidential election.

The judgment which was initially fixed for July 17 was postponed to the new date by CAS which according to them was pursuant to Article R59 of the Code of Sports-related Arbitration.

For the past 10 months, the Tema Youth President had been seeking justice at CAS after he was disqualified from the 2019 GFA Presidential elections by the Normalisation Committee (NC).

He was disqualified from the count of two charges; the failure to pay transfer commission to the football association as well as failing an integrity test.

After his disqualification by the Vetting Committee of the NC, Palmer filed an appeal which was swiftly rejected and resorted to the highest Court in Sports for justice.

He later filed an appeal against the decision of the Normalisation Committee at the Court of Arbitration for Sports. Stakeholders in sports especially, football were still hoping and anticipating to hear from CAS.
