Women in Sports Tech has accepted 27 undergraduate and graduate students into its 2022 fellowship program, which will match the participants — two of whom are from the United Kingdom – with major sports technology businesses for internships.

Stats Perform, GameChanger, Titleist, Catapult Sports, MLB, and PantherTec are among the companies taking part. WiST’s mission is to enhance gender equity by bringing a talented pipeline of girls into the sport tech business.

Students from Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Virginia, USC, Ohio State, Michigan, George Washington, Oregon, and Duke are among the students in this year’s class, which is the largest in the fellowship’s five years of existence. Each recipient receives a $5,000 grant as part of their summer job internship, as well as being matched with a WiST mentor. Since 2018, WiST’s fellowship program has provided 75 students with an opportunity to intern for sports tech firms.

“This year’s selection process was by far the most competitive as the WiST Fellowship Program has become recognized within the sports technology industry for the extraordinary experiences for the Fellows and host companies alike,” Marilou McFarlane, CEO and founder of WiST, said in a statement. “Our WiST community looks forward to supporting these students as they begin their career journeys and long after their internships end.”
