Mr Akwesi Osei Adjei, a former Foreign Affairs Minister, has wished the New Patriotic Party (NPP) success as they elect constituency executives beginning today, Thursday, April 28.

The former Member of Parliament for Ejisu-Juaben Constituency urged delegates to choose the best men and women to lead the party in the future.

In a statement, he said, “Pursuant to the provisions of our great elephant family’s constitution, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), we are presented with a golden opportunity to elect constituency executives who will steer the party’s affairs for the next four years.” I am confident that the grassroots will select our best men and women to lead us in the future.

It is in order to appreciate the contributions of our gallant men and women of the New Patriotic Party for their hard work in service to our great tradition, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), towards our electoral victories, especially in the 2020 general elections. I truly believe that both executive and non-executive members deserve commendation and reward. ”

He added “As we set off to conduct our constituency executives elections, I offer my prayer and best wishes to members who aspire to put themselves up for various executive positions in service to our dear NPP.”

He further called on the party members to remain united after the polls.

“Let us all see ourselves as winners and the end of the contest, and as one people having an equal stake and interest, and take up roles towards election 2024.

“In order to break the 8, it is incumbent upon us all to go back to our roots to uphold our values and resurrect the old spirit of the New Patriotic Party as captured in our motto; Development in Freedom.

“It is therefore imperative for the NPP to choose experienced and mature leadership with the requisite wisdom to go back to our roots, resurrect the NPP spirit of old and uphold our values of SERVICE, SACRIFICE, AND REWARD.

“We must necessarily empower our grassroots, strengthen our internal democracy and foster consensus building. Above all, we must consciously unite the NPP to make it formidable and attractive for purposes of breaking the 8.”
