A woman was arrested for allegedly killing her 60-year-old husband.

Kobbie Brown, a 60-year-old man, was lynched to death by his 50-year-old wife at Gomoa Nkwantanan in the Central Region’s Gomoa East District.

The incident occurred in broad daylight on Tuesday, December 21.

According to a 14-year-old step daughter of the deceased, who spoke to the EIB Network’s Central Regional Correspondent Yaw Boagyan about the tragic incident, her mother left the house in the early hours of Tuesday, December 21 after warning her (daughter) not to sweep the complex in her absence.

The discouraged daughter went on to say that she heard shouting and wailing coming from their house’s compound a few minutes after the mother had departed.

She immediately flung open the door, allowing others to see what was going on.

”I came out only to see some nearby neighbors shouting and crying. And to my surprise, I approached closer, only to see my father’s lifeless body forcibly pushed in the middle of building blocks parked in front of our house while my mother was nowhere to be found at that time”.

However, the suspect, later came to the scene including two family members accompanied by an ambulance.

The Assembly Member of Budumburam Electoral area, Lot Arthur, and the other two relatives of the deceased said that the suspect had come to inform them in the morning that, her husband has passed on, therefore, coming with the ambulance to convey the body to the morgue.

Currently, the suspect is in the custody of the Awutu Beraku District Police Command assisting the police with the investigation, whiles the body of the deceased has been deposited at Winneba Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.

But, information gathered by Yaw Boagyan revealed that the root cause of the matter was that the ex-husband of the suspect would be coming down to Ghana soon from the United Kingdom (UK) and arrangements have been made between them to reunite hence the need to kill her current husband in other to get the UK based husband to marry her.

And to get easy access to settle with her UK ex, the suspect had to leave her life, therefore, allegedly lynching her husband with a stick to death.

Meanwhile, Lot Arthur has used the opportunity to appeal to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to put stringent measures in the area to curb rampant criminal activities.

According to him, Criminal activities in the area is too much and hence need police protection.
