The President Declares Seven Days Of Mourning For Former President Rawlings

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo in a press release has announced the death of former President Jerry John Rawlings.

In the release, he states with sadness that the 1st President of the 4th republic has joined his ancestors, a tragic event that occurred at 10:10am on Thursday 12th of November 2020.

The President has, however, directed that all national flags should fly at half-mast for the next seven days in all part of the country, and have declared seven days of national mourning from Friday 13th November to Friday 20th November.

The President also honours the memory of President Rawlings by suspending political campaigns for the period.
