Blast Motion, a bat sensor technology company, will continue its player swing-tracking partnership with the Cape Cod Baseball League. Since 2017, the collegiate summer baseball league has approved Blast Motion’s bat sensors for in-game use, with swing data provided to professional team scouts.

The sensors will also be used during this summer’s CCBL Home Run Hitting Contest as part of the newly enhanced partnership. Since 2017, Blast Motion and its connected app have been collecting in-game swing data on Cape Cod League stars such as Adley Rutschman, Spencer Torkelson, and Henry Davis, all of whom were drafted first overall in the MLB draft.

Blast Motion formerly served as MLB’s official bat sensor technology partner and has been approved for in-game use at all minor league levels since 2019. MLB recently partnered with and acquired an equity stake in sensor company Diamond Kinetics, a Blast Motion competitor.
