Director of Business Operations at Dalex Finance has hailed the members of the Council of State for their decision to reduce their monthly allowances by 20 per cent until the end of the year.

Mr. Joe Jackson said the move should tell the managers of the economy that they need to share the burden and not to push the burden on the taxpayer.

The Financial Expert was reacting to the announcement by the Members of the Council that they have decided to reduce their monthly allowances by 20 per cent until the end of the year.

This decision, according to the Council, was taken due the economic difficulties that the country is facing at the moment.

Mr. Jackson told Sunrise show host, Alfred Ocansey on 3FM Wednesday March 23 that “we want to share the burden.

“We don’t want the burden to be on the taxpayer and they are sending a clear signal to the managers of this economy that we are sharing the burden and not to put the burden on Ghanaians”.

He added “that is the symbolism. The Council of State has taken the lead and this is what must be done. They want to use V8 with horns and push ordinary Ghanaians aside in traffics”.

“we see the same anger and frustrations in the face of Ghanaians. I expect them to show that we are sharing the burden. I expect them to know that the cedi has taken a dip. We have to share the pain. And if I am in pain and I see that those who are leading are not bearing the pain”.
